Disappointment Frenzy

Jul 15, 2021 | Faith

I was having issues with my site and had my daughter check it out. All at once, I was getting so many responses to my posts and I was so encouraged and kept my pace. Then the disappointment set in when our daughter told me that the majority of responses were spam. Bam! I went into a Disappointment Frenzy. I was disheartened and bummed out.

I had thoughts running through my mind that kept telling me to give it up. What was the use trying to get my story out and make a difference in anyone’s life when others were basically using me for their benefit to draw more viewers to their site? What use was it knowing their hearts were not true?

It took me a good while to come out of this frenzy of being disappointed. I let other’s actions stop me from my passion. How many out there do the very same thing? I suspect that we all do if we are honest. We all get kicked in the stomach one way or another. So many around us let us down and hurt our feelings and instead of picking ourselves back up off the floor, we tend to pine away in distraught!

Many give up on their dreams by listening to opinions of others. But that’s just it, it is their opinion. We are all made with a different talent and gift and what seems odd to one is something that is perfect for another. How boring would it be to all be the same and have the same opinions?

Discouragement is a process we have to experience to make us stronger. We hate when it happens but look back on it as growth and understanding. Well, we should at least! I am not immune to these life lessons and have been second guessing what my path is. I know we are told in His Word that we are His servants. I have a responsibility to myself to obey His Word and do what I can for our Lord.

I have been in this lull or poor pity me that I allowed this punch in the gut to rule over my goals. We all do this. I am suppose to be a good example for others and in being weak, I admit it to humble myself to all. Not being that weakness is bad, but admission to weakness is healthy and shows others to be humble as He instructs.

There is evil all around us and sometimes we can be pretty naive as I was. It is encouraging to know that it’s ok! Others have the knowledge we need to depend on. I am not savvy on the internet works, but my daughter is. Some are well managed people and some are so disorganized and a mess. Some can work under pressure while others flip a lid. It’s ok!

On top of the discouragement of bad and wrong feeds, I was also discouraged with yet another surgery! It seems like it is getting to be a big joke! Am I alone in these trials? Absolutely not. If we take account as to how many there are in this world, I guarantee you there are many who are worse off than poor pitiful me!

I am blessed to have a daughter who can set up sites and master the online graphics! Many struggle either paying someone to do this or figuring it out for themselves! Discouragement comes in all kinds of flavors and yes, it can leave a bitter taste in your mouth, but just remember to keep going and don’t give up! Have a goal set and don’t lose sight!

I let distractions get the better of my thoughts and feelings and that was not a good thing. This world can be mean and throw rotten fruit at you, but take the seeds from that fruit that are good, plant them, and nurture those plants that come up! In doing so, you can thrive to grow spiritually and productively in whatever you set your heart on! It’s ok to fumble, just use what you fumble on to grow!
