The Fathers Here And Gone

Jun 21, 2020 | Poetry

Many are celebrating Father’s Day,
With dinners, siblings, and fun;
But many have hearts hurting,
And would rather cry or run.

Great food and pitch-ins smell yummy,
Kids laugh and play with vigor;
Others weep in sadness and loss,
With panic caused nervous rigor!

Father’s hug and kiss their children,
As they open their Father’s Day gift;
Some have already passed from here,
Awaiting for God’s gracious lift.

Fortunate some are to be able to have,
Their dads to hold every night;
Pray for those who’ve lost theirs,
And struggle in their emotional fight!
