Shoulder Surgery

Sep 17, 2020 | Blog, Health, Life

A lot has happened these past few weeks and between those things and summer projects, I have been too far behind with posting! I apologize for that! This year has been the oddest and saddest by far! I pray that each of you are well and safe!

To continue with my surgery progress, it was about one year later and my left shoulder began to give me fits! Disc Degenerate Disease is no fun! I had a hard time lifting or using my right arm. Sleeping was as difficult as the other issues of my neck and lower back!

I saw a Dr. who was specialized in sports injuries and who was also highly recommended and with awesome report! He said the left clavicle bone looked frayed and when he went in, sure enough, he had to grind the bones down and clean out bone fragments.

He did a fabulous job and I at least had the other arm to work with. I did have a little trouble sleeping but using a pillow to hug helped keep the shoulder even and elevated enough to relax.

By this time and after the other surgeries, I was better prepared and had frozen meals and everything staged around the house to help me. That is an important thing to do! If you are preparing for any surgery, ask those who previously had surgery what to expect, how they managed before and after, and just any information anyone can give you. Have a notebook and do your studying! Experience from others is a huge help!
