Soaring As One

Apr 16, 2019 | Faith, Poetry

I twist the ring around my finger;
Watch it sparkle and glow through the air.
My eyes tear up as I recall
The moment you placed it there.
I had waited so long for you to ask
And was about ready to give up;
Was beginning to think I was only
Following you around like a pup.
And now you sit there across the table
With you eyes gleaming so bright
Against the candle lit in the center
And your silhouette against the night.
After (#) years of marriage
We have a lot to be thankful for;
God joined us two together as one
And our love continues to soar.
