Rosanticipation

Jul 1, 2020 | Poetry

Spring is my favorite time of the year,
When newness of life springs forth;
In our climate the blooms appear later,
Because our weather is cooler in the north.

I love the smells of fresh cut grass,
Even though it and pollen make me sneeze;
At times we have to cover our crops,
On count of temperatures down to a freeze.

My roses begin to green up and bud,
And an eagerness to smell them is great;
Their beauty and colors lift winter blaas,
As rain topples them from its weight.

The glistening from each rain drop,
Sends a sparkle to my wondering eyes;
My rosanticipation,
Is an uncontrollable disguise.
