I have experienced a few occasions in my lifetime where people have been accused of some thing that they have not done. All of them have been different circumstances, but today I want to discuss one of the situation from a couple who have divorced and the other is causing issues just to get full custody of their children.
In this particular case, the wife was sleeping around behind her husband’s back and left him for the other man. She took their kids to another state and away from their dad. They have been in and out of court battling about anything and everything you could imagine because the wife has accused the husband of doing some pretty bad things.
The judge and one of the cases dismissed the case right away because she was totally off base and did not make sense. And another time, she wanted to move the kids yet further and the judge said that is not feasible and not a good idea. So, to further aggravation, she decided to come up with another situation even more severe than before. She has manipulated the minds of her children into hating their dad and saying that he has done so many bad things that’s even the children talk bad about him to other family members.
This time, he was arrested for a malicious lie that she and her new husband concocted so that she gets for custody of the kids and they can move. So when he was arrested, it was blasted all over the news, Facebook, and his home town. There were so many nasty comments from many people that did not even know the situation. Some were saying, “Give him the death penalty,” while others called him names!
If you could only imagine how that made him feel and made his family feel. They have sat back and watched what has been happening and know the truth, but yet they all are drug through the mud and media with cruelty and vicious words. But of course, when someone gets arrested, they are publicly shamed before anyone knows the truth. I sat back and I thought about that poor guy and thought, “What in the world ever happened to the phrase ‘innocent until proven guilty?’
That poor guy was already suffering from what his wife had done to him and what the kids were starting to do following her example and her convincing them of untruths. I understand that many people are guilty and many people do evil things, but not everyone does. Can you imagine how low he felt and humiliated? Can you imagine the anger and loneliness he feels in his soul?
Every media post on these issues are so quick for a story and yet, they hardly ever follow up and reverse what they have caused to the victims of such lies! The story is never told of innocence and the accused who is exonerated is still the victim of hate. They lose their friends and get fired, no one hires them on, and they suffer depression and anxiety.
The next time you see a posted story about what someone has done, maybe think on the possibility it may be wrong and that individual is actually innocent! Maybe it would be best to refrain from comments like that of the one who basically said to kill him. Maybe just say a prayer for that situation that God who sees all will punish accordingly. Maybe ask God to protect those around you from these kinds of situations. The shenanigans of an X can be scary and pure evil. Don’t let evil into your hearts.
