Remembering That God Is In Control Even When Evil Is Among Us
There are so many things that I want to write about, but something has been picking at my heart way too much lately. I want to address whoever I can about the topic of today. We are in a time frame of the unknown right now and it’s not really a Democratic verses Republican fight, it’s more of a fight between good verses evil – always has been.
We all know that this year of 2020 has been just horrifying yet awakening to what is going on around us. My heart has been stirred to a new level of understanding on our very being – our very existence in this world.
It is so easy for all people to be sucked into what is going on around us that we cannot see the bigger picture. We watch Facebook, the news, videos that we are sent through media, and information sent through family and friends. We do not know if all of this information is correct, but the sense of anxiety in our hearts lead us to believe one way or another. This anxiety can make us sick to our stomach!
This year we have experienced this virus, riots that have destroyed cities and killed people, and heart ache due to the lack of communication and fellowship. Some have had to change their schedules and life milestones such as marriage. We all have seen the lack of supplies in grocery stores or other retailers. Our minds are being reset to a new way of living.
But, there is one thing that has never changed and that is our Lord Jesus Christ and His Word. We change, our minds change, and our lives are upside down, but he says His Word is everlasting! We all, including myself, have had our thoughts and minds altered by this 2020 experience. We are all not immune to the dangers in this.
In the end, it should always boil down to God’s way only. If something is going to happen that goes against His Word, then the fight has to be for our Lord. My heart really goes out to those who honestly do not know His ways. My heart goes out to those who are being trampled on, who are being killed by this virus, to the families that have to deal with this loss, and for those who are committing evil. They do not see His truth and those unbelievers and criminals are heading into the path of hell.
God says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, some of those listed who will not go to Heaven are the thieves, the covetous, and revilers. During many of these so-called protest, there were people stealing other’s belongings, breaking into businesses, killing innocent people protecting their businesses, trapping police and killing police in their own departments, and just committing sin one after another.
There may have been some quiet and peaceful protesters, but it was rare to see. Most of what you saw were these people – these very same people listed in 1 Corinthians that were not going to make it into Heaven. It was sad to witness this world so full of evil and so many who were supporting this behavior. I could only imagine what God was thinking and feeling as He watched His people behave this way. Romans 12:18 says to be at peace with all men as far as it depends on you. We must do our part to be peaceful.
In Romans 14:8, God says that we belong to him whether we live or whether we die. What matters is how we live this life He has blessed us with as to whether we will really live with Him here presently on this earth or when we die or we continue to live with Him in eternity. God says that we are just a vapor and we are not promised tomorrow. How we live our lives on this earth is going to determine our eternal future.
He says the very few will enter his New Kingdom. Whether or not this virus was created to kill people or not, God‘s promise is forever. Whether or not there is a rich band of people wanting to create a new world, God’s promise is forever. Whether or not you are on board with believing in Jesus Christ, God‘s promise is forever. Wouldn’t you rather believe than not?
