We Are Not Immune To God’s Punishments

Jun 8, 2020 | Faith, Life

This week my heart has been so heavy. There have been so many riots, destruction, and even murders. There is so much discrimination in our world and just hatred for everyone and especially for our police officers.

Granted, there are a few police officers who honestly have no business being a police officer from the get go. Some places have implemented new procedures and training to help their officers, but I am sure there is much more they can do. I personally know many officers and have respect for them. I know they’d do anything to help.

God created us all in His image. He died for all for the forgiveness of our sins. Like these officers or anyone else who trains for a job, they have to follow protocol and rules. But we as a God-race also have protocols and rules to follow. Those are found in God’s instructions called His Bible.

Many today want to push Him out of their lives and not live His way. The further and further we go in years, the further this world as a whole grows apart from where Jesus was hung for us. Losing track of that concept is dangerous. Record shows God’s destruction all over in the Old and New Testaments and if we think we are immune to His punishment, we are a sad nation.

The first and biggest command is to love because He loved us. If we put Him first in all things and think of others as ourselves, how can we go wrong? Another of His commands was to not sin. He was specific in Corinthians that those who cause tiffs, lie, steal, commit sexual sin, and much more had no part of Heaven.

That being said, He also said to them that some used to act accordingly but have changed and put on Christ. Sin is sin. Each and every one of us is guilty of some kind of sin. But He says to be humble, be honest, and to accept the wrong we have done. He says to gently help those who we see sinning as to save their soul. That’s deep! We have such a responsibility to help save someone and should do our part!

Crime rates all over the world is pathetic. People kill each other over drugs, alcohol, sex, arguments, and more. Some people kill just to be made macho or think they are making a statement. Some just out of pure evil.

Some punch their spouse and abuse. Some rape women, children, or even men and boys! Some break into homes and take what does not belong to them. Some have the attitude that, “those people are rich they can replace things.” But all of these things are sin. Our world is full of it and it seems discouraging!

But God says differently. He says to stop sinning and stop living worldly. Things of this world are not Heavenly. When He says to be humble, He means to accept the wrong you have done and change for the better. Correct what you have done wrong.

If you have committed a crime and get caught, don’t run! Running even shows guilt if you are not. Always be truthful and don’t bend the truth, just tell it like it is. He said to let your yes be yes and your no be no. You can’t be wish washy with The Lord because He already knows your thoughts and actions. He says He knows how many hair are on your head!

There is no hiding from God whether you believe in Him or not and He says every knee will bow before Him. So if you are racist, if you think you are better than the next person, or if you are in a higher position than the normal person and consider yourself more almighty, think again! If you cause issues purposely egging on what you feel is an unjust but truthfully is not, causing others to stumble or be hurt, then shame will come upon you. There is no skipping His judgement day! He died for us ALL and ALL will kneel before Him.
