Kitty Love

Among all the cat varieties,
That prowl and hunt upon this earth-
Are the cute and cuddly domestics,
That are either wild or tamed at birth.

I’ve been raising those domestics,
For both the barn or the house;
It seems that when all are tamed,
They still love to eat a mouse!

Usually the barn cats,
Are mean when left alone; They are skittish of people and scratch,
Till wounds open to the bone.

Rarely can you catch or pet them,
Like lightening they streak a path;
They are at least clean in nature,
Cause they’re always licking to take a bath.

I’ve learned many years ago,
To train you must start with a tame one;
You give it food and lots of love,
And you’ll be rewarded with lots of fun!

Strays and wilds you do not see,
Their personalities nor their affection;
But the tame are sweet and cuddly,
And it spreads like an infection!

I can hold my cats like a baby,
They give kisses by rubbing my face;
I have cats of every color and attitude,
Who give me an awesome chase!

I see the world as it unfolds today,
And this parallels these tiny pets;
A little love can spread much joy,
And that’s as simple as it gets!
