Judging Biblically

Jan 5, 2021 | Blog, Short Stories

I had in mind to write about another topic today, but something struck my nerve and I have to change direction. Someone responded to one of my posts that I was judging others. Judging others has been that famous phrase that everyone depends on when they don’t like correction. That correction is usually based on God’s Word.

On that note of God’s Word on judgement, let’s go to Matthew 7:1-5. Here, Jesus is saying not to judge others when you yourself have issues too. That is true! If I walk in the street and see someone dressed in dirty clothes, I don’t know what that person has been doing. They could have been helping someone clean a garage or they could be someone working so hard to make ends meet that that’s all they have to wear!

We do not know those kinds of things and yes, we are not suppose to judge and be hateful! God created all human life and if we stumble because someone is not our same color, shame on us! This verse is supporting this exact example!

There are many verses similar to this in His Word and if everyone reads those verses as a whole and not take them out of context, it is very explanatory! Someone may stutter with a speech impediment, but we are not to judge! God has blessed us all and we should be thankful!

Now, I’m going to explain the rest of God’s commands on judgement! Not only does He say to not judge less we be judged, He commands His believers to judge righteously! Oh, here comes the hate from some! Everything I post is usually God related and everything I post on His verses is His way and mine with a proud responsibility to live it out!

For example, a couple of weeks ago or so, I posted on marriage. I will not apologize for posting on what GOD says in His Word! If anyone wants to think it is ok to marry person after person and think it is ok, it is NOT by God. For those who understand this and have only lived in one marriage, they understand the importance of His ways! For others who may not understand His ways, they see it as being judged. Well yeah!

The Bible has to be taken as a whole! John 7:24 says, “Do not judge by appearance, but judge with right judgement.” Proverbs 31:9 says, “Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” 1 Corinthians 2:15 says, “The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.”

Zechariah 8:16 says, “These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgements that are true and make for peace.” You see, those who know God’s Word has a responsibility to help others see and believe as well. He said to go preach and teach His Word. He also says that those who see someone living unrighteously needs to gently instruct the sinner as to save their soul! This is found in 2 Timothy 2:25.

Now, I as well as most in this world, know that there are some who believe and trust God’s Word for what it is and then there are those unbelievers who live for their own thoughts and feelings. This is common knowledge for everyone! And, everyone runs into some kind of situation either from one believer or unbeliever to the next.

I am a believer and love God with my whole heart! I have family and friends who never go to service, church, or even belong to a congregation. Whether or not you are a believer, God is real and He created ALL of us! Some believe this and some do not. But, as a believer, I have a responsibility to God to not follow along or make someone else believe their wrong in something is correct. If I do, He is holding me accountable for not helping His child or children, which we all are.

For example, I go to town with family members and see a niece steal some jewelry. Not only is it lawfully wrong, but morally wrong since God says not to steal. Thieves have no part of Heaven is what He says in Corinthians! If I allow that niece to walk out of that store with that jewelry, I am just as guilty and God’s Word also says that!

I don’t care if my niece is poor or feels the need to have when she doesn’t have. I have to follow God’s laws above feelings! I don’t care if she is my niece or if it destroys my relationship with my family either. My soul depends on making righteous judgements in every situation!

Please understand that we all only have one shot in life to make it right! We are just a vapor is what He says. We are not promised tomorrow! There is only two choices for our eternal life and they are Heaven or Hell. We have to make judgement calls every day if we want to fight the devil’s temptations and go to Heaven.

Jesus is watching us very closely and we have to live righteously His way not by man’s feelings or wishes. God’s Word trumps all things and He created us for His purpose. I want everyone to be in Heaven and I want to do what I can to help others! That is my passion, not judging for appearance, but judging by God’s Word!
