God’s word shows us over and over again that when we are faithful and do what He expects then we have many blessings from Him. From the Old Testament and throughout the New, He gives us example and tells us so. The Bible was written for us, so that we have an amazing example on how to live our lives.
In Joshua 14:1-8, Caleb reminded Joshua of God’s promise through Moses that he was to receive a specific piece of land in the promised land. You see, Caleb, when he was sent to the land of Canaan to check it out, came back with a good report and with honesty, while the other ones that were sent out with him caused fear and anguish because they lied and said it was not a good place. Caleb followed the Lord fully, and he was faithful so that he was blessed with this land.
In Proverbs 28:20 it says that a faithful person is richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished. This is very key to what we need to listen to. We can strive and strive and strive to be rich, but if we do not have the faithfulness of the Lord, we have nothing. It is in doing what He wants us to do that we are blessed with things and we should praise Him for it. We are to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all our heart and focus on the wonderful things He does for us reads 1 Samuel 12:24.
Proverbs 3:3 says to let love and faithfulness never leave you and to bind them around our necks and write them on our hearts. Psalms 31:23 says, “ Love the Lord, all His faithful people! The Lord preserves those who are true to Him, but the proud He pays back in full.” You can fully see the contrast here, where it’s obvious that the blessed are those who are faithful, and those that are proud he’s gonna make them pay for it.
His faithfulness will be our shield and rampart and He will cover us with His feathers, and under His wings we will find refuge, so says Psalm 91 verse 4! If we are faithful, He promises these things to us. We just have to do our part and do what’s right. And the only way to know that we are doing right is to read His Bible and find out exactly what He wants us to do.
In Matthew 25:21 it says, “His master replied, ‘ Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ He promises happiness to those who are faithful, and we truly want to be happy don’t we? 2 Timothy 2:13 says if we are faithful, He will remain faithful to us because He can’t disown Himself! This is powerful!
The most valuable gift that we can receive is the gift of eternal life in Heaven! He says in Revelation 2:10 to not be afraid of what we are about to suffer. The devil will put some of us in prison to test us and we will suffer persecution, but to be faithful even to the point of death, and He will give us life as our crown. Everyone knows or they should know that both Heaven and Hell are eternal, and if we are faithful, that eternal happiness of Heaven is our home. We only have two choices for eternity and no other choices so everyone should want to choose Heaven!
If you read Hebrews, you will see just how many were faithful to our Lord! Faithful was Abraham, Noah, Moses, and more! We can learn a lot from these faithful of the Lord! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires so says Galatians 5:22-25. If we belong to Him we will want to do right by Him! The pleasures of this world are working against us and it is easy to fall into its grasp. We may want to live thinking we have to be happy but that is not what we should do. Happiness is found in the Lord! Life is not about us but about Him! His way or no way! God’s word shows us that faithfulness is rewarded!
