Today is so much different than even just a year ago, yet it remains the same! Things are changing too quickly and people are losing track of the most important thing and that is God! There have been, and always will be, many obstacles around us.
It is so easy to get sucked into everything in this world. We tend to want this and want that. I think back to years before us and how life was so simple. They worked hard to earn 5 cents an hour whereas today, some jobs can be $30 + an hour!
They spent Sunday’s with church groups or with family playing games or something because they did not have shopping malls or things. They considered it The Lord’s Day and you didn’t cause others to work. It was a day of rest!
Their obstacles were different than ours, but they tend to repeat themselves. I think about everyone running to the stores and buying out all of the toilet paper and supplies. In those years of recession years ago, they ran out of toilet paper and I suspect that is the reason why the toilet paper is flying off of the shelves today.
The thing is, people have had to wipe since the beginning of time that God created us. What did they use? They did not have toilet paper back then. Then they used leaves or probably animal cloth and washed it in the rivers. People years ago did not have the luxuries that we have today. However, they did what they had to and survived!
There were many wars in our past that they had to live through and get by with hardly anything. Today, we have this virus going on just like they had many viruses and diseases then. Many died but many survived. Many have lost their jobs then as many have today.
We are not immune to having obstacles in our lives whether it be personal or worldly. But one thing that remains true is that God is always with us. There are many worries in this world but a verse that comes to mind is that in Psalms 23:4 where He says that we walk through the valley of darkness. Whether it be we live or die, we keep walking through. Where we end up depends on how we have lived for His sake.
If we believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is our Lord, our faith will bring us through any obstacle. God promises to those who believe that he will take care of us. Psalms 34:17-18 says, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Today with everything going on in this world, our spirits are crushed! We see and we hear so much that we don’t know what is true and what is not. The devil is clearly at work in this world and we need more than ever to fight for our eternity. We need the Lord to get us through these obstacles and onto his path.
His Word is being mocked and so many do not heed it!
Sin is allowed everywhere because feelings take over and the desire for self sets in. Gods word is law no matter what anyone on this earth wants, feels, or thinks! In the end, we know that God will conquer and everyday, good always wins!
Whatever obstacle you are facing, God’s got you if you only turn to Him and believe. If you have sinned and think there is no return, He always beckons you to turn and follow. Acts 2:38 speaks of Peter preaching and telling them to repent and be Baptized for the forgiveness of sin . Forgiveness means that He forgives us and we turn away from sin.
No matter what happens today or in our future, Heaven is our goal. If not, it should be. He says in 2 Corinthians 3:13-16 that people’s minds are hardened and the same veil of Moses’s writings covers the heart and when someone turns to The Lord, that veil is removed. If that veil is still over your hearts, wouldn’t it be better to uncover it so you can see?
