Jesus Our Seamster

Jan 4, 2021 | Poetry

With a New Year beginning –
And the unknown in our future;
I pray that our worldly wounds –
Can heal with a gentle suture.

Only God can sew that stitch –
If we unbend our needles and ask;
Many are tired of the sick and death –
And wearing that smothering mask!

If we look at His Old Testament –
We see the pattern of those who sinned;
Destruction was brought upon them –
Just by His Word splitting the wind!

People of today are paralleling –
Those patterns from long ago;
Kids today seem not to have been taught-
His Words unraveling that should grow!

We have within our power –
An antidote to heal our land;
All it takes is asking for forgiveness –
And believing in His healing hand!

Our Master, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Demands that we seek Him and pray;
He IS the only ONE who can save us –
And bring peace to our broken day!
