Judge Others Righteously

When I started my post yesterday, I said that I could be aggravating to some. I went from being a non-confrontational bossy late teen to a stage of unsurity and then on to a sound doctrinal heart who was strong willed.

Sometimes people think you are judging them and there were a few who did. And you know what? I was! John 7:24 says, “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteousness judgement.” That verse means that you do judge a person on how they are behaving.

I had several disagreements with a few who brought up the verse Matthew 7:1 about judging not less he be judged. Many do behave differently or dress differently from others. Many live in different circumstances. That is where this verse comes from.

However, we, as Christians, will be judged more harshly than those who have not yet accepted Jesus. Christians are suppose to live God’s way. If Christians see others, especially other Christians, living sinfully, they are suppose to gently instruct as to hopefully save their soul.

The thing is, many who do not understand God’s Word as it is written front to back, take verses out of context, live by their feelings and not by His Word, and just take what they heard as being right before they seek for themselves.

2 Corinthians 5:10 says that we all will be judged according to what we have done or not done while living in our earthy bodies. Jesus knows our minds and knows when we are judging righteously or not! Even Christians and myself flub up at times. We are human, but we have a responsibility to behave accordingly. If you do not know what someone’s situation is, you have no right to judge. If the situation has been made public or it is a private matter between even two friends, there is still a higher power going to see and hear.
