I was really working hard to build my faith and The Lord continued to allow me to see a bit of Him more and more. When I read that verse about Peter responding to Jesus about who He was, I concentrated on that part that God revealed that to Peter.
If God can reveal that to Peter and He said He was going to build His church on that concept, I had to work harder. I took responsibility and asked God to forgive me of my sins, but that was not enough! I had to do my part to keep on God’s good graces!
He said we are to do His work on this earth by being good examples and spreading His Word, but I had to really understand and know that what I was saying was His Word and not made up or changed as some religions do. He says those who add to or change His Word are eternally condemned and I take that seriously!
I didn’t like confrontation and was really a wimp when it came to standing my ground when in conversations with former church members and others. As I grew and understood His Word, I became less afraid. I started listening to a music channel 104.3 on our area radio station and when songs such as ‘Fear Is A Liar’ came on, I was encouraged!
God’s plan for me was becoming clearer as I stepped forward on my path. I had read and studied several Bibles, took notes, and highlighted, but I had to dig deeper. I began diving into the history of The Bible and studying time frames and the whys to what was taught during those times!
I’m still figuring out that aspect but understand the big picture. I am still working on knowing Bible verses to quote without having to look them up! For some, memorization comes easy. Our two kids have photogenic memories. Well, they remember quite easily what they’ve read and are a lot smarter than both myself and my husband. It is harder for some but that is ok, resource books are awesome!
The more I kept fear away and the more I studied, read, listened to sermons and CD’s, the less afraid I become and I don’t mind writing or talking about His Word because my only worry is what God sees and hears. He knows who rejects and He knows who is seeking and willing to hear so those worries are His not mine.
Do not let fear overcome you as it used to do me. Allow God’s Word to fill your brain and heart so when His Love is revealed to you, you can walk your path in that newness of Christ that He is just waiting for you to walk on! The devil picks and will pick so those who seek Him back down, but be strong and realize the devil is a puny bully that God will destroy and send into the lake of fire in the end!
