In my Story yesterday I discussed my search for The Lord and my responsibility in teaching the correct way. I also mentioned that in searching and studying God’s Word I was discovering what He said compared to what I learned growing up. He says that His word trumps all other learning and if we seek Him, we will find Him.
In one part of that last Story, I touched on not praying to dead saints because they are still dead and not alive with the Lord yet. It is important to know that there is only ONE Advocate that can go between us to get to God and that is Jesus. Some believe, as I used to, that the dead saints had that power to go between us.
I sought fervently for His Word and studied a lot of material and asked many priests, preachers, and a God-fearing people many questions in my search. This was one topic I had an issue with when it came to teaching these children God’s Word! I was responsible more so for teaching than others and my soul was on the line! I had to find out more!
I knew that in Luke 16: 19-31 that when we die, our souls are either on one side of a gulf of peace or the other in torment in Hades. It says that there is no going back once we have died first. His word also said in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 that the dead in Christ will rise first and then those still alive in Christ would rise and all be changed in an instant.
Again in Revelation 20: 1-15, He said at this end judgement that all who was left would be in Hades and thrown into the lake of fire. Jesus has not come yet! Those who have died are still in Hades waiting. There were a few in His Word that was risen on up and with Him, but the New Testament covenant changed everything and we live by a new standard.
We are all still waiting for His return. He says He shows no partiality In Romans 2:11, Deuteronomy 10:17, Acts 10:34, 2 Chronicles 19:7, and several more verses. In every verse in The Bible about saints, they are those who love the Lord and do His work. They are alive and here with us. Those dead are at peace or already tormented like in the Rich man and Lazarus.
I was honestly confused when God also said there is no confusion with His Word and ‘let your yes be yes and your no be no.’ I had so many questions and after collecting so much confusion, I took my questions, again, to our priest.
I had about a 2 hour conversation with him. But for this Story, I’ll concentrate on the saints. I expressed my concerns and brought up verses and thoughts and I quote him as he said, “We are leaning against this concept now.” He said many things in agreement with my thoughts.
But, in the very next mass that following Sunday, he looked directly at me when the part in the sermon says, “We pray to saint…”. My heart dropped. He was just pacifying my questions and mocking me. I was mad. I wanted to scream out and let everyone know his deceit. How could someone who is also being held at a higher standard knowingly be hurtful and deceptive?
