God’s Word To Obey Stands Today

Through the Old and New Testament God says His word is above all things. This is true when it comes to nations when they rule to even the government! Because of this, power hungry leaders throughout the whole Bible rejected Him! This is why many years ago and many today reject Him!

In Psalms 33:10 He says, “The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples.” We all have our own ideas, think, and feel what we want. This fact has been known forever!

If you look at the history of the Old Testament, God told His people over and over to obey His commands and do righteousness in His sight. He told them if they didn’t that they would pay the consequences. They did! When they would fall away and lose faith, He would send them into situations to be defeated and captured.

He did promise to avenge them if only they would look toward Him, repent, and change their ways. Every time, He would follow through with His promises! He never lied a once!

Yet, over and over the generations would fall away then remember and repent. His love and promises never failed them. It was the people who failed!

He says in 1 Peter 2:13 to submit yourselves to authority. Romans 13:1 says subject yourself to authority because God established that authority! Think about that! God created the law system and the pattern which generations before us obeyed all the way up to our generation! We are to obey and submit ourselves!

That being said, God’s word comes first in all things. In Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles said they must obey God rather than man. If God’s word says to obey Him then we should! Even Jesus instructed them to pay the taxes they owed and He did!

God says to be at peace with all as far as it depends on us. From the Old Testament to today, it has not changed! Today we have so many protesters and so many not complying with authority! There is always a divide in being right or left. Who is correct?

I will tell you, it is the heart of those who follow God’s laws and Word that are right. Being at peace with all does not include not listening to authority! It does not include harming another nor being loud or obnoxious! It does not include being selfish and hurting your loved ones just because of your own feelings! He says to consider others before self!

His Word never changes but man continues to fail every time! What did and what does God do when we pull away from Him? It is because of our own sin and rebellion that we suffer! His word nullifies all others! Nullify means nothing else matters but His Word!

There is a movement in the right direction toward Jesus, but we have to do our part to help! Listen and read what He expects and live it! He continues in Psalm 11 with, “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart from generation to generation.”

His rule stands forever He says. It does not fall apart or change. Today we are standing in a nation falling away from Him and we must return, repent, and ask Him for forgiveness! It is that simple. Humble yourselves He says and we must bow to Him and stop fighting and sinning! His word should be etched in our hearts and taught to our next generations! Who else is going to teach them?
