Not but six weeks ago I was diagnosed with the variant of Covid. It was not a pleasant experience, but I learned a lot about it and have a lot of good advice that will help anyone get through this virus if you get it. Seek medical attention as soon as you are showing symptoms and get tested to make sure you have this virus or some thing else. There are many things you can do like taking certain vitamins, keeping active, keeping hydrated, and more.
The first I would like to talk about are the vitamins. Even if you do not have this virus it is really important to keep up with these vitamins as to improve your immune system. Vitamin C, vitamin D3, zinc, and vitamin B are good to boost the immune system. Make sure you read the directions and take as it says but when and if you get the virus be sure to double your dose each day.
Your body will take in all of these vitamins as it is needed. This virus takes a lot out of you and these vitamins will help to keep you in line and on track with fighting this junk. Your body will take in what it needs and then expel what it doesn’t need.
Many people who get this virus usually end up so tired and weak that they cannot move. Many issues of the lungs come up and sometimes people get pneumonia and have to be hospitalized. I was no different except not being hospitalized. I was so weak and tired when I would move from one place to the next I would have to stop and just catch my breath. I was tired and wanted to just sleep.
I started out having a real bad headache and fever for a week and a half. I didn’t want to do anything and I did not want to go anywhere. But my son, who is a CT (Catscan) tech, spoke to my husband and told him that he has to get me up and moving. He took me for a drives and got me out walking outside. He motivated me in the house and set things in front of me to do.
I do not know how many know this, but pneumonia can set in when you do not move around and it can cause severe issues to where you end up in the hospital. With all of the unsure issues of the medication used, it is better if you can keep from going to the hospital! So as much as you may not want to move, fight it and get moving!
It is very important to drink lots of liquids when you have this virus. Hot liquids such as a decaffeinated coffee and teas are always good to keep the phlegm moving. Just do not drink milk products because it can cause more phlegm issues or upset stomach while sick. Try not to drink too many caffeinated drinks and especially any kind of cokes or beverages with a lot of fizz. Water is a must. Remember that your body is mostly made of water and you need to keep drinking even though it might send you to the bathroom every other half an hour.
Water and liquids will help in the process of flushing this virus from your body. Your doctor may prescribe medication such as antibiotics and steroids and sometimes these medications will take your body and mess with it. For example, the steroids caused a lot of anger in my system and also shot my sugar levels to almost 500. The two rounds of antibiotics caused thrush. Medication can cause other issues and liquids will help in controlling some of these issues.
I chose to go to a hospital and receive an infusion within the week that I was diagnosed. This also may have helped but I really am not sure. I was sick several weeks and it was not a pleasant thing to experience. I started out for a week and a half having a severe headache and fever of up to maybe 102. I was weak and just had no energy, I then began coughing and gagging, I lost my sense of taste and smell, and my body just hurt!
In whatever is suggested that you do or take into your body, be sure you do your research and ask your Doctor what is in these medications and if it will affect your current medications. My writing was shaky, but if you can, write a list of questions and be sure to ask them and be sure to get your answers. There are many unknowns about this stuff and some doctors do not even know much yet themselves, but you can take these things and do everything that I have told you above and it will help you get through it. Without it I am afraid of what would’ve happened and afraid that I probably would have been one of those in the hospital on a respirator. I pray that no one else gets it and I pray for good health for each and everyone of you but if you get this, please consider having these vitamins already in your system and upping them if you get it.
